Remanufacturing Process of Broken Shaft Assembly and Treatment Methods for Key Components

In coal mining working faces, the broken shaft assembly of the scraper conveyor is subjected to long-term impact and wear. Components such as hammer heads, bearings and belt pulleys may suffer varying degrees of damage, which impairs the crushing efficiency and operational stability of the equipment. For worn broken shaft assemblies, disassembly, cleaning and item-by-item inspection are required. A repair or replacement plan shall be formulated according to the actual condition of each component.

The remanufacturing of the broken shaft assembly mainly includes the following steps:
1. Disassembly and Cleaning
Disassemble the broken shaft assembly in accordance with operating procedures. Classify and inspect components including end covers, belt pulleys, bearings, bearing housings, cutter teeth, expansion sleeves and seals. Ultrasonic cleaning is adopted to remove contaminants such as oil stains and coal dust.
2. Belt Pulley Inspection
Inspect the belt pulley for wear and damage. Components with severe wear that have reached the scrap standard shall be replaced promptly.
3. Treatment of Hammer Heads (Cutter Teeth) and Cutter Tooth Seats
Determine the treatment method based on the wear degree of hammer heads and cutter tooth seats. Hammer heads with material loss or shank fracture shall be replaced with new parts. If cutter tooth seats are eligible for repair, restoration can be carried out according to actual conditions.
4. Inspection and Repair of Other Components
Examine bearing housings, expansion sleeves, fixing seats, pressure covers and other parts. Those that meet service requirements can be reused; eligible parts will be repaired, while unqualified ones will be replaced. Bearings with obvious damage generally need replacement.
5. Seal Replacement and Inspection
All seals inside the broken shaft assembly shall be replaced with new ones. After component treatment and overall assembly, quality inspection shall be conducted in line with relevant technical specifications to guarantee the product meets service requirements.

The core of broken shaft assembly remanufacturing is to formulate targeted schemes based on the actual condition of each component, instead of simply replacing worn parts. Through itemized inspection, targeted repair, component replacement and overall acceptance, reusable old parts can be rationally utilized, and the service performance of the broken shaft assembly can be restored. This provides reliable support for the stable operation of coal mining equipment.
